This one's for G.

Hello everyone and good morning. Many moons ago I set out to make a 90s mixtape. This was first brought on by the girls over at Rebelle Zine going on and on about 90s music. The second inspiration came from providing a soundtrack to a club scene that took place in a play I directed late June. So that leads me to the mixtape project itself. After four heavy, and cubersome, torrents later I manufactured the peace de resistance of mixtapes. I like to call it: 90s Jammie Jams vol.1 . Just a note to make about the collage: I made it in tacky 90s clipart style on purpose. Anyone can indulge in this but this post is dedicated to G, no real reason really. I didn't think you could dedicate blog posts to fellow bloggers, but I just did! Any suggestions for another one? What about a fall theme. The collage will be much more kickass next time, scouts honor.

Remember when

...The gurls and I would go to the photobooth and print these out? Remember how expensive they were? remember how we wished there was some way to bring it to the public in an easier way?

I do know I am just a tad behind on this information....

PS. Since this is my 100+ post I've been thinking I will change the content a little. Is it lame that I want to turn this into a journal too? I have also been looking through previous posts and realize how terrible my writing is. How embarrassing...

Damnit!!!

I had a pair of shorts like this, mine were in checkered pattern, and I passed them on to someone else. GAH! Why on earth did I do that?
Raffia and straw looking material are textures that remind me of grandma's and the Old South, the good time in the OLD SOUTH when things were simpler. I am a little over an hour away from a final I am not going ot make much sense until I get out of this final manic I am in.

Vampires+ Lady Gaga

equals two things I am against at the moment.

I was totally into Buffy, Charmed, and Interview with a Vampire but the vampire craze has come back in hideous abundance. I am reminded of a South park episode (2 seasons ago?) where all the popular kids dress "goth" and drink tomato juice and call themselves vampires. I am sure this is happening....somewhere but it is an extreme example of my distaste of the subject. I have also not given the REAL reason that I don't like Lady G. First her pros: She has an exceptional voice and can rock any item of clothing she wants. Her cons: She uses all her, aforementioned, talents for evil to induce everyone into this excess that is so over, in my mind. To inundate the public with how obnoxious you are is doing a disservice to your profession and everything else. I also have to comment on my comment by saying it is just my opinion.

I am obviously in the majority because she is in every magazine and in every city touring and playing music. Another thing that you might not know. She looks great without the loads of designer make-up she piles on her face. I am going to put one more contradiction out there. NICOLA FORMICHETTI is one of my favorite stylists therefore I am in love with this shoot he did for Out Magazine. Also, Ellen von Unwerth snapped all the shots.

Ha-Ha-Hundredth

Woah, I didn't think I would make it this far you guys!
I am back from my small break as I was dealing with school and house issues.
I have come away unscathed. Things will still be a little slow for the next couple of days, I have a final tomorrow. :/
Because this is my hundredth post I thought it would be good to make some blog resolutions: more pictures, more pictures, more pictures.

Eggplant Night revisited.

Eggplant parmesan sin parm.

Scott Russell original tag, on my oven.

More pictures from the awesome experience that was eggplant night at my house. I invited Jared and his camera crew and a couple of bands into my house and I don't regret a single moment. It was fun with friends, cooking, and good music. One comment I will make, it was so hot! I definitely need more fans in my house.

THE HOST

Jared T. Fischer: one of my best friends and the host of the magnificient event. He is not the type to be cynical or sarcastic, he carries a happy sun wherever he goes. This was all of his idea and general planning and I give him much props.

THE CREW

Shawn V.: my elementary school best bud who i re-met 2 years ago, we have been getting closer ever since. He is the key person in making the films and photos you see here now look so good.

Kat made my favorite dish of the night. I love her cooking and I am so sad she is moving away to LA.

Christiana and Chris: they prepared a salad according to Christiana's recipie. Soooo good.

Hannah B. She cooked a russo-franc dish that tasted so goooood. She is also the lead singer in Mr. Moccasin.

THE CAST

Boy Ghost played and it was their first show! They sounded great.

Food eater #1/ Anna M. she is an original cast member from episode one. She is so great.

NPD: Eggplant Night

NPD= North Pole Diet
What started out as a friend's need to save money and lose weight has turned into a great opportunity to bring friends together. I am so lucky to have such great friends surrounding me. These past few months I have been a little down but my friends refuse to see me unhappy and lift my spirits. They inspire me too, so basically they are the best thing since sliced bread.

Danger!Danger!

Haha I am laughin' up a storm over the new blog dramaz. You know: The chick from Luxirare gets hated on. And then a girl feels a little insecure about her creations. Why? The girl shouldn't be so dissuaded to DIY, I agree. And The Queen over at Kingdom of Style, and rightly so, posted about the email she received from the woman. Now what is so funny is the barrage of comments going every which way about the situation at hand. In the end you guys: Luxirare works very very hard on her creations but you don't have to put that much effort into it if you do not want. Nexo, a commentor with a bone to is the best, Susie Bubble gives him/her the once for. And this is why i indulge in blogs...
