New York Fashion Week: Day 0 and 1

My internship is fantastic. Thank you all for your well wishes. I have met and worked with so many amazing people and this is just the beginning! I arrived in New York and was able to settle into my new digs for the next two weeks. The first night we went to a production featuring clothing by Emilie Jerard. She is a New Jersey designer who is really into goth wear but much more sophisticated than your average Hot Topic shopper. She is worth a closer look.

Can't wait to shop with her in Philly.

The next day was the 2nd annual IFB conference! So much fun because I met old friends and new. Most of the bloggers were fantastic public speakers and I was most impressed with how they presented themselves. My favorites were Susie Bubble, Bryan Boy, and Amy Odell of The Cut. Jenine of IFB, once again out did herself. I will be at the IFB/Amex tweet up on Monday. Come say hi!

I have some fun news!

But first let me take you back. In August I had a conversation with a friend of mine about life and college. She lamented that she had wished she would have interned while she was at uni. She gave me some great advice. That led me to contacting some friends in New York who run photography and videography company called Kamau Studios. I was thrilled when they invited me to intern with them! So I will be in New York for 12 days! I am absolutely thrilled to be working with friends and absorbing fashion week. I have already rsvped to a couple of events and contacted friends for meetups. If you would like to meet up email me (sproutasaurus@gmail.com) or somehow see me on the street say hi!

I will be covering my adventures through my blog, so stay glued. With Kamau and company I will be doing a lot of technical work. I will get to attend the IFB conference, which I am sure will be a delight. The highlights for me are Susie Bubble, Bloglovin, and theCut. If you are unfamiliar with the conference here is some video from the last season's event. In closing I would like to say that I am excited and humbled for this opportunity.
