I am loving the wonderful weather but I can't help but fall in love with this look. Pun intended.

Part 3 of 4: School's Out For Summer
Feet And Shoes
To me, summer means well kept feet and footwear. The Coveted blog really knows her pedicures. Her tutorial on home pedicures really helped me through the winter months but will keep my tootsies perfect for summer. Some think it is tedious to spend 30 min minutes to an hour on your nails but I look at it as a way to keep your body in good shape. Although I am still working on the latter point of this statement. I like experimenting with colors and mixing a matching. It is a way to get away with crazy trends. What are some of your favorite colors?Unfortunately I was blessed with large feet (size 11). But have managed to find some neat things to dress my feet in. I haven't been able to find great wedges yet so the majority of my shoe wardrobe is dedicated to oxfords, boots, and plimsolls. A girl can dream of having a closet full of cute wedges in different shapes and colors. With the two job offers presenting themselves I might have them sooner than later. I spend some time drooling over things I want and shoes make the top of the list 80% of the time. I am promoting Barefoot Tess because they are headquartered in my home city of Baltimore and they manage to consistently put out a good product. They even have super small sizes! My mom makes purchases there every once and a while. If I had a sugar daddy I would shop there all the time and Nordstrom because they are the only places I know that have decent shoes.

CHANEL CRUISE 2010
The best thing, for me, about resort and cruise collections are that they always have a relaxed feel to them. The best of the best are the ones that present these elegant collections and you can see the craftsmanship. This is especially true for Chanel's Cruise 2010 collection. The draping alone makes me swoon a little bit. The sailor theme plays throughout but there is less military refinement and more fabrics that flow. The warm colors are kind of yummy, no? [see first two images] The jewelry are like centerpieces or chandeliers, they are incredibly ornate but it is to be expected for Chanel. Then there was a blink of print mania. It was a nice surprise seeing that this morning. Way to go Karl!!!
Take a look....

I have a present for you.
Help I'm Alive--from Metric's newest album Fantasies
A song from Metric, a band from Canada, that was much more popular at the beginning of the century then they are now. It would be cool if they could blow up like their counterparts.

Happy B-day Mr. Brown!
Happy Birthday John Brown!
Famous American crazy man and most importantly a radical abolitionist. President Abraham Lincoln said he was a "misguided fanatic". Brown has been called "the most controversial of all 19th-century Americans [citation]. He was revered, hated, and feared all at the same time, with good reason. He managed to take over a fort and massacre many but was then captured and eventually hanged. With historians now looking into the "secret" lives of Presidents and their adversaries this might be a person to look forward to reading about in a few years.
I can't deny that while I enjoy fashion and I love music even more history really captures my full attention. I can have a conversation about my favorite designers and albums of the year but history means more to me than that. You learn so much with such little information about people that were rarely mentioned in your history books. That being said, W.E.B. Dubois wrote a book on Brown, it is a little lengthy and if you are familiar with his writing you know it can sometimes be dry but I have read a few chapters of interest and it is a great way to get incite about a white abolitionist from an African American civil right's activist's point of view.

Long Live The New Flesh
Often, usually over coffee, my friends, and I talk about Baltimore music. I guess I should be embarrassed about how close I feel to the music community even though I have only played one show, but I don't. Anyway The New Flesh pops up in conversation all the time. Why? Because they are music gold: their music is tight, their performances are great, and they are pretty cool guys. Would you like to see what I am talking about?

(all photos taken from their here)
It would be better if I could post upcoming shows they are playing but I think they are on some sort of break.
EDIT: Now you can leave comments, some code needed to be arranged.

Studs and grommets vs. simple cuts and mute colors
Personally I like both but in moderation. I agree with Miss Woo and Picked Pics, there should be a definite return to the simple and clean. Where I live studs, ripped clothes, etc. are kind of a uniform. That is okay sometimes but I definitely like it when I see someone around that puts effort in making there clothes presentable.
I've decided to do a fun Pros and Cons using this cool site called picnik.com. I recommend it for the Photoshop illiterate like myself. Shoes featured can be found at F-troupe's website.

Face Hunter Show is on now, fashionistas and blog fanatics a like tune in!
Paris part 1 from The Facehunter Show on Vimeo.
being that I am the later and not the former I am stoked. This episode he explores the change that street style snap shots and fashion blogs have caused. I mean, I love him to death, but I didn't realize the Satorialist was so short. Maybe I am just hatin' because he is in Paris talking three languages with Yvan and I am stuck inside with East Coast rain.
