“There are different species of laziness: Eastern and Western. The Eastern style is like the one practiced in India. It consists of hanging out all day in the sun, doing nothing, avoiding any kind of work or useful activity, drinking cups of tea, listening to Hindi film music blaring on the radio, and gossiping with friends. Western laziness is quite different. It consists of cramming our lives with compulsive activity, so there is no time at all to confront the real issues. This form of laziness lies in our failure to choose worthwhile applications for our energy.”

Ahaha round up

Yvan and his new blog are quite possibly the only thing on the internet that brightens my day. Second comes Ally but I know she isn't offended.

I don't remember who took this but Bradford Cox is featured with his dog. Both of their faces are priceless.

I love Wildfox. Even though I won't be able to afford a 112 dollar tee shirt I still get a kick out of their editorials. You know these ladies have close ties to Cobrasnake right? That is exactly what this picture reminds me of. When I look at this and laugh I am kind of laughing at myself because I used to really be into looking at Misshapes and Cobrasnake party photos at the beginning.

Does anyone know the band depicted on these pants. Another Yvan photo that warms my heart with laughter. These pants are greatL I both hate them and lust after them.

Life is complicated especially when you add color.

my main man

viktor v.

I don't know how but this man, through his teethy photos, has motivated me to be better at what I want to do. Which has nothing to do with gritty models and amazing shoe wear and more to do with whether or not this or that piece of music or film has impacted this or that period of history.

Yea, I just made up an adjective.

To-do, what to-do: some advice

ph from the Fashionisto

I realized that I plan a bajillion things in my life and when they don't happen I pout about it. I just need to do what I NEED to do and leave the hobbies for some free time. I never have free time but honestly I have made a habit of putting hobbies before important things in my life. That stops now!
This is just an affirmation I am giving myself. To kick my own ass for not wising up sooner but you can also take this home with you to.

But I'm no Dr. Phil. lol.

It's Here

I am putting it on the Christmas list.
Did you know that Jay-Z totally drops the fashion house in that famous song of his with Rihanna. Maybe it is time for me to give rap music another chance. Here are the lyrics.

The Simple things

I need to be better about posting what I actually wear. But, alas, I am no good at, how you say, blogging? I am just a loud mouth with a love for clothes and the like. If you can guess where the photos are from there might be something in it for you. These are some simple things I am into.

Immediate update

Is this what bloggers are gonna rave about next? Doilies linked on dresses. No,no, no. I just saw this on Susie Bubble's blog who is no question fantastic. I can't get down with this. Or the recent spring of the return of the 50s prep that is slowly creeping in. I am crossing my fingers that none of this will get too crazy or too popular.

There is truly something happening in the world of fashion that I do not like. I definitely don't consider myself a member of the fashion community except for the fact I literally buy into it. So my point, or rather my question is: What becomes of the fashion community when they start transforming into the rest of lemmings that truncate vernacular and terminology as well as dumb down their audience? I am a firm believer in not taking fashion seriously but I don't know if this is missing the point. This truncation isn't the first and it is the only recent example that happened to inspire this whole post. So forgive me if this is long winded.

U know what sucks?

I cannot not get my hands on Annarks stuff. I need it just like I need the whole Beau Coops shoe collection. Imagine me with a closet full of Annark's wares and Beau Coop? I would be the luckiest girl.

Body candy

ph: unknown
Looks like jewelry welded to a bodice but in reality it is a belt and bustier. Still, I wish this could be translated to something more wearable in my head.

ph: unknown editorial
What happens when you find yourself with loads of jewelry? You wear it with your body suit.

ph: Yvan blog
Poncho cape laden with snaps and simple zips.

ph: unknown Canadian blog
Silk scarves all over you is quintissential body candy. So comfy, luscious. Now it is up to you whether you go tacky Versace or taste full lady of Monaco with that idea. Totally up to you...

Urban Outfitters isn't that hipster. Now that I have tickled my funny bone I will say that I am not a big fan of URBN but...
AND THIS IS BIG: they are bringing in designers/ bloggers to do creations for them and that is a big step in the right direction. Ignore my previous bias, that was created when I went to a job interview there, BUY BUY BUY. Support bloggers.
Keep it goin'.

just sayin

Dree is my idol. Dree's new look makes me want to find a way to lighten my hair just a tad to throw everyone off. J. would have a fit though.

Vikto Vauthier has been a favorite for almost a year. I should list all his awesome photog qualities but you can see for yourself. He is very good at getting F-you out of the people he photographs.

Never in a billion years would i be able to pull of an olive parka and make it look feminine. Kudos to the woman shot by Schuman of the Satorialist.
